There is no one way to celebrate Wear It Purple Day.

Whether you are at school, at work, in your local community or celebrating online, every action helps create a safer, more supportive and more inclusive world for LGBTQIA+SB young people.

The most important thing is to show up, start conversations and help create spaces where rainbow young people feel seen, supported and celebrated.

Celebrate at School

Wear It Purple Day began in schools, and schools continue to play an important role in helping LGBTQIA+SB young people feel safe and included.

Before You Start

  • Talk to your principal, teachers or wellbeing team

  • Get support from friends, your student leadership team or your Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA)

  • Register your event
